Tom Tom Club will perform twice in New York City this week. On Wednesday the group will gig at Irving Plaza, with opener Matthew Dear. Tom Tom Club’s Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz have explained that Irving Plaza is “a venue that is especially significant to us as Talking Heads were the first band to ever play there.” On Tuesday Tom Tom Club will appear on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Folks who wish to attend that performance can stop by the Fallon website for a chance to do so from the program’s band benches. Tom Tom Club’s latest album is Genius of Live.
