The 31st annual Calgary Folk Festival has confirmed a number of unique artist pairings. The goal of these self-proclaimed “arranged marriages” is to “not only find the common ground in their music, but to challenge one another to move outside of the comfort zone.” Among this year’s unique collaborations are St. Vincent with Man Man, Frank Turner with The Burning Hell and Joe Henry with the Swell Season. Other acts scheduled to appear include Michael Franti & Spearhead, the Avett Brothers, Cat Empire, Roberta Flack, DJ Logic and Stars. The Canadian event will take place from July 22-25 at Prince’s Island Park.
