Athens, GA-based singer-songwriter Vic Chesnutt will release At the Cut, his next studio project, on September 22. Chesnutt has collaborated with everyone from Michael Stipe to Lambchop to Bill Frisell and Widespread Panic over the years, so it is fitting that At the Cut is a collaboration with Fugazis Guy Picciotto and members of Godspeed You!. The album was recorded by former Arcade Fire member Howard Bilerman at Montreals Hotel2Tango studio and is said to focus on themes of cowardice, courage, mortality, tenacity, defiance, mourning and memory. Chestnutt recently completed a tour of New Zealand and Australia with Victoria Williams.
