In-between appearances on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Roots will participate in the traveling Rock the Bells Tour this summer. The annual trek will kick off on June 27 and run on consecutive weekends through August 9, including stops in Toronto, Washington D.C., Boston, New York, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami and Vancouver. Each date will feature 25 hip-hop acts on two stages, a vendor village, surprise performances and a healthy dose of collaboration. In addition The Roots, the festival will feature Nas & Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marleys new collaborative project, KRS-One and the reunion of the Irish-influenced hip-hop trio House of Pain (Everlast, Danny Boy and DJ Lethal). Other acts confirmed to appear include: Common, Big Boi (Outkast), Reflection Eternal (Talib Kweli + Hi Tek), Tech N9ne, RZA (Wu-Tang), Slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Royce Da 5’9,’ Crooked I), M.O.P. and Charlie 2na (Jurassic 5), among others. The tours exact dates will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
