Chick Corea and John McLaughlin first appeared together in Miles Davis’ band (and the essential Bitches Brew recording). Later this month the two will begin an extended tour together in the 5 Peace Band. The first show will take place on March 19 at UCLA’s Royce Hall and the group will route to the east, eventually landing at Burlington’s Flynn Theatre before heading off to Europe. In addition to Corea and McLaughlin, the 5 Peace Band also will feature Kenny Garrett (who also appeared with Davis), Christian McBride and Vinnie Colaiuta (Frank Zappa). On some of the dates drummer Brian Blade (Wayne Shorter) will swap in for Colaiuta.
