Last night both the Allman Brothers Band and Phil Lesh & Friends appeared at Birmingham, ALs Verizon Wireless Music Center. While Lesh and the founding members of the Allman Brothers Band have passed in the night, at yesterdays performance Gregg Allman did welcome a special guest onto the stage. Partway through the groups set, Alabama hero/_American Idol_ champ Taylor Hicks emerged to play harmonica with the ensemble on You Don’t Love Me. Hicks grew up on the Allman Brothers music and has appeared with the band numerous times since scoring international fame. The Allman Brothers and Phil Lesh & Friends will both appear at Orange Beach, ALs The Amphitheatre at the Wharf this evening.
