A day following his appearance with the Allman Brothers Band (and a guest stint with RatDog) Warren Haynes returned to Red Rocks Amphitheatre for a show with Gov’t Mule. Umphrey’s McGee opened the proceedings and then the Mule delivered two sets. Umphrey’s guitarist Brendan Bayliss stepped out with the headliners on Sunday mid-way through their performance during a cover of ‘Dear Prudence.’ Gov’t Mule later closed out the night with a version of the Grateful Dead staple ‘Morning Dew,’ which some saw as a nod to Haynes’ potential upcoming date(s) with the Dead.
As for Haynes, he performed a sold out acoustic show last night at Aspen CO’s Belly Up. The show, which opened with the fitting ‘Raining Pain In New Orleans’ aired on SIRIUS Satellite Radio. That performance will be rebroadcast tonight at 9PM EST and again on Saturday at 10PM EST. Haynes will return to the Belly Up this evening.
