Charlie Hunter’s latest release featuring his current trio will hit on September 9. Baboon Strength features Erik Deutsch on keyboards and Tony Mason on drums, delivering nine songs, with such titles as ‘A Song for Karen Carpenter,’ ‘Astronaut Love Triangle,’ and ‘Difford-Tillbrook.’ We’re assuming (hoping) that ‘Fine Corinthian Leather’ offers a nod to Ricardo Montalbbut feel free to ask him yourself as Hunter routes through the northeast and then heads off to Europe.
