RatDogs summer tour with Govt Mule continues to be a springboard for collaboration. On Tuesday night, the two groups appeared at Salt Lake City, UTs The Depot, where Warren Haynes lent his guitar and vocal skills to both Casey Jones and All Along the Watchtower. Earlier in the evening, RatDog saxophonist Kenny Brooks also sat in with Govt Mule on a cover of Traffics The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, while guitarist Mark Karan and keyboardist Jeff Chimenti sat in with the group on a famous song they only occasionally cover, All Along the Watchtower.’ The two groups will appear at Murphys, CAs Ironstone Vineyards tomorrow.
On Saturday, Govt Mule will also play a full two-set show at Ventura, CAs The Majestic Ventura Theatre. Due to a previous commitment, keyboardist Danny Louis will not be able to join Govt Mule until its second set. Govt Mule has not performed as a power trio since 2000.
