On Saturday, Medeski, Martin & Wood played a free show at Rochester, NYs International Jazz Festival. Partway through the trios performance, pedal steel guitarist Chuck Campbell took the stage with MMW for a cover of Billy Roberts Hey Joe, a song the Jimi Hendrix Experience released as a single in 1966. John Medeski has worked with the Campbell Brothers a number of times over the years, as both a performer and producer. MMW recently added a few additional dates to its schedule, including a September 28 appearance at a Black Mesa Trust Benefit held at New Yorks Bearsville Theater.
