The Wood Brothers returned to New Yorks Bowery Ballroom on Saturday in support of their sophomore studio album, Loaded. For the performance, the core duo of Chris and Oliver Wood was rounded out by drummer Kenny Wollesen and keyboardist John Medeski, the latter of whom produced both Wood Brothers releases. Partway through The Wood Brothers set fellow Blue Note recording artist Amos Lee also took the stage to sing on a handful of songs, including Ways Not to Lose and Angel. Lee also appears on the studio version of the latter number. Amos is a labelmate and someone we have gotten to know over the years, Chris Wood tells Jambands.com/Relix. Every time we play Philly he comes down, hangs out and usually sits in. The Wood Brothers will appear at Jackson, MS Hal and Mals on June 5. Medeski and Wollesen will also join The Wood Brothers at Bonnaroo. Please pickup a copy of the June issue of Relix for more on The Wood Brothers.
