The Ryan Montbleau Band hit the road this weekend a short, collaboration-heavy New England jaunt. On Thursday the group headlined Newmarket, NHs Stone Church, where Assembly of Dust keyboardist Nate Wilson and drummer Andy Herrick replaced brothers Jay and James Cohen, respectively, for a version of the AOD song ’45 Degrees. The collaborations continued at South Burlington, VTs Higher Ground the following night, when opening act Zach Deputy welcomed RMB percussionist Yahuba Garcia to the stage in the middle of his set for a pair of tunes. Always a gracious host, Montbleau returned the favor at the end of his second set, inviting Deputy out to play guitar on a version of ‘Quickie,’ before welcoming Zach Deputy percussionist Paul Kearns to the stage for a cover of Bob Marley’s ‘Bend Down Low.’ Finally, Saturday night at Southbridge, MAs Wormtown Winter Carnival, Deputy brought out Garcia once again during his opening set, before joining Montbleau for a good portion of his set, including some choice kazoo work. The Ryan Montbleau Band will perform at Northampton, MAs Pearl Street this Friday and share a bill with U-Melt at Woodstock, NYs Bearsville Theatre this Saturday, before hitting road for an extended run through Midwest.
