While the music industry congregates in his adopted hometown of Austin for SXSW next week, Antibalas leader MartPerna will play a show with his Ocote Soul Sounds. The ensemble will perform at Austins Mexican American Cultural Center on March 14, previewing material from their new album with Adrian Quesada, The Alchemist Manifesto. The disc is scheduled to hit on May 20, featuring 12 new songs, plus remixes by Nickodemus, Chico Mann, and Toy from Sonidero Nacional/Control Machete. Antibalas has also confirmed a handful of new dates, including appearances at New Yorks S.O.B.s (4/10) and Brooklyns Southpaw (4/11-12). The group will also appear at Langerado this weekend.
