In September of 2006 Derek Trucks performed at Madison Square Garden as part of Eric Clapton’s band. This coming April he will return to the celebrated New York City venue with his own group. The DTB won’t be headlining, but no doubt will win over some new ears while performing in an opening slot for Santana. The Derek Trucks Band will appear with the group for an entire month, starting off at the Agganis Arena in Boston on April 4 and wrapping things up on May 2 in Pelham, AL at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre (although the DTB will step away on April 11 and 12, presumably to participate in the Wanne Music Festival). The Derek Trucks Band is now off until a February 23 Florida gig at the City of Clearwater’s Seafood & Blues Fest.
