More than over 4,000 jewelry firms participate in Tucson, Arizona’s International Gem and Mineral Exposition, which draws 30,000 attendees. Over the past three years, a complementary event has emerged as well. On February 8th and 9th, the 4th Annual Tucson Gem and Jam will take place downtown at the Hut. Bassnectar, The Pnuma Trio, The Glitch Mob, DJ Vadim featuring Abstract Rude and Yarah Bravo, Rena Jones and BLVD featuring Souleye are among the participating musicians. The event also will include live performance painting, a Bazaar featuring gem, jewelry and art vendors, as well as workshops on solar energy (quite fitting for Tucson which went 115 days without rain in 2006).
