Widespread Panic keyboardist JoJo Hermann will roundup his Mardi Gras Band for a series of dates timed with, well, Mardi Gras. Hermann first put together a party band consisting of Max Abrams (Saxophone), Johnny Few (Bass), Hunter Williams (Percussion) and Kevin Mabin (Drums) during Widespread Panics hiatus in 2004 and has hit the road intermittently ever since to play some New Orleans music. The keyboardists latest jaunt will open February 1 at Athens Georgia Theatre and include stops in Charleston, SC (2/2), Mobile, AL (2/4) and Nashville (2/5). The ensemble is expected to perform material by Professor Longhair, Dr. John, The Meters and, of course, Hermann himself.
