Last night the Dave Matthews Band closed out its summer tour at the Hollywood Bowl in southern California. The night was a momentous occasion for a few reasons. First off, the group brought out Stephen and Ziggy Marley for a cover of their father’s ‘Exodus.’ Moreover, John Mayer stepped onto the stage with his guitar for ‘#41.’ In addition, Danny Barnes (Bad Livers, Robert Earl Keen) joined in on banjo for five songs in the middle of the DMB’s set: ‘Don’t Drink the Water,’ ‘Corn Bread,’ ‘You Might Die Trying,’ ‘Eh Hee,’ and ‘Lie In Our Graves.’ Finally, the night was worthy of note, as in a tribute to his wife’s 34th birthday, Matthews performed ‘#34’ for the first time since 9/10/05 and for the first time with lyrics since 3/23/93.
