Last night in Cambridge, MA, the Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey debuted its new drummer, Josh Raymer. Raymer steps in for Jason Smart, who put in a six year stint with the band. Raymer, an Oklahoma resident who gigs weekly with his own trio at Tulsas Shade of Brown, will travel with JFJO though the northeast over the coming week. For three of these shows, the group will expand to a four-piece with Steve Kimock adding guitar, starting this evening at Mexicali Blues in Teaneck, NJ.
