The Allman Brothers Bands annual New York City residency kicks off tomorrow with a private event at the Beacon Theatre. As expected, a number of Allman Brothers Band family members have also lined up a series of late night gigs timed with the groups multi-night run. After Warren Haynes performs at the Beacon on April 6 and 7, the rest of Govt Mule will anchor a late night funk jam at the BB King Blues Club . In addition to drummer Matt Abts, bassist Andy Hess, and keyboardist Danny Louis, the jam session will feature Meters guitarist Leo Nocentelli and percussionist/vocalist Cyril Neville. Derek Trucks Band vocalist Mike Mattison will open both evenings with his band Scrapomatic. Special guests are almost guaranteed.
