MMW drummer Billy Martin explores the cultural exchange between Africa and the Americas in his new book _ Riddim: Claves of African Origin_ The work features Martin’s unique graphic notation (which) can be easily read by anyone, with or without previous musical training. An accompanying CD delivers 87 tracks of his drumming to elucidate some of his analysis. In addition Martin has created a _ Riddim_ website that allows one to select a region of the world and learn more abut the music of that area.
