A few months ago, we reported that Live Nation was in the works of expanding its already vast network of venue properties. On Monday the media powerhouse announced officially that it had acquired House of Blues Entertainment, handing control of the companys venues to the media giant and bringing Live Nations empire to 170 rooms. The announcement followed approval by the Justice Department which determined that the acquisition would not result in any anti-competitive practices (note to Justice Department: Huh?) According to reports, Live Nation plans to open as many as 30 additional House of Blues clubs across the globe.
