Club d’Elf is finally set to release its first studio recording. On Now I Understand band founder Mike Rivard draws together a number of the artists who have appeared with the group over the past eight years. The bassist has tapped longstanding core members Brahim Fribgane (oud, dumbek and percussion). Erik Kerr (drums) and Mister Rourke on turntables as well as longstanding collaborators, including: Mat Maneri on viola, Reeves Gabrels and Duke Levine on guitar, John Medeski on Hammond organ, Wurlitzer piano, Mellotron and analog synthesizer, Billy Martin on drums and DJ Logic on turntables. Club d’Elf will celebrate the release of Now I Understand with shows on October 12 at the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge, MA and October 18 at New York Citys Tonic on October 18. The group will next perform on August 31 at the Lizard Lounge.
