Dave Matthews Band invited a few familiar faces to the stage over the weekend at its two day New York City Randall’s Island event. On Saturday, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones stepped up at the close of the DMB set for a version of ‘#41’ that extended upwards of twenty minutes, before joining in on ‘Ants Marching.’ On Sunday, Fleck added banjo to ‘Lie in
Your Graves’ before all the Flecktones emerged for ‘Jimi Thing.’ Also on Sunday, Fleck made another guest appearance, appearing with Yonder Mountain during ‘Death Trip’ and ‘No Expectations.’ Finally, closing our Island sit-in report, Mr. Warren Haynes, also appeared with DMB on Saturday, as Haynes and Matthews shared vocals on a cover of ‘Cortez The Killer.’
