Last night, Mickey Hart performed a set with a surprise group of ‘friends’ at Milwaukee, WI’s Summerfest. As it turns out, Hart’s friends included Planet Drum’s Sikiru Adepoju, all of Particle and members of The Mutaytors percussion troupe. In 2005, Hart toured with Particle as Hyrda, hitting clubs and festivals across the country. During his set, Hart offered a number of songs from throughout his career, including Dead chestnuts (‘Fire on the Mountain’), Particle originals (‘Ed & Molly’) and songs from Hydra’s catalogue (‘Wavemaker’). In addition, Particle drummer Darren Pujalet sat in with Mutaytor during its Summerfest set.
