After a string of shows last month, the new quintet featuring Jimmy Herring, Bobby Lee Rodgers, Jeff Sipe, Neal Fountain and Mark Van Allen will reconnect for gigs throughout the month of August. The quintet has spent some time working up original material with a studio recording and additional touring to follow as well. The one thing that band lacks is a fitting moniker. The group has been touring as Herring/Rodgers/Sipe, which may fill the marquee but doesnt even reflect all of the band members. As a result, the group is encouraging wordsmiths to offer up their own suggestions. The band is soliciting these on its MySpace page, pledging a prize to anyone who supplies the winning appellation (note: Herring/Rodgers/Sipe/Fountain/Van Allen likely wont cut it).
