On Saturday, the Disco Biscuits opened for Umphreys McGee at Indianapolis, INs The Lawn at White River State Park. Partway through Umphreys McGees The Triple Wide, the Disco Biscuits staged a hostile takeover, during which time the quartet slowly replaced the evenings headliner on stage (with the exception of drummer Kris Myers). The Biscuits then performed its Digital Buddha, before Umphreys returned. The Biscuits Jon Gutwillig remained, however, subbing for Brendan Bayliss for the final portion of The Triple Wide. Fans will have numerous opportunities to see the two bands collaborate in the coming months. On Friday, the Disco Biscuits and Umphreys McGee will perform interlocking sets at Bonnaroo. In August, the longtime friends will also revive their The Brain Damaged Eggmen project for a post-show party at Chicagos Vic Theatre. The Beatles and Pink Floyd tribute band will perform at a show on August 5, while both bands are in town for performances at Lollapalooza.
