The Flaming Lips will spend a chunk of August touring with fellow art-rockers Sonic Youth. The underground-rock icons will kickoff their joint tour on August 3 at Cuyahoga Falls, OHs Blossom Music Center, as part of 92.3 K-ROCK Presents Kuyahoga. The same week, the friends will perform at Detroit, MIs State Theater (8/4) and Chicago, ILs Lollapalooza (8/5). After a short break, the Flaming Lips and Sonic Youth will team-up for a series of pavilion and state fair performances, including stops St. Paul, MN (8/24),Council Bluffs, IA (8/25), St. Louis, MO (8/26), Columbus, OH (8/28), Allentown, PA (8/31), Syracuse, NY (9/01) and Boston, MA (9/03). The Flaming Lips, who are touring in support of their new album At War with the Mystics, will also perform a number of solo and festival dates throughout the summer. of particular note, the group will perform with WEEN and the Go! Team at Morrison, COs Red Rocks on July 29.
