While the sit-in report is a signature element of our daily new section, its rare that such special collaborations unfold on national television. But, last night, Huey Lewis joined Umphreys McGee for its entire appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. The frequent collaborators performed a brief set for the studio audience including Women Wine and Song, Nemo, I Want a New Drug, Heart and Soul and Bad Is Bad, though only Women Wine and Song and the first few seconds of Nemo were broadcast live. Lewis first joined Umphrey’s McGee onstage at the 2005 Jammy Awards and has since collaborted with the ensemble on a number of occasions. Umphreys McGee performs tonight at Louisville, Kentuckys Brown Theatre.
