A number of soulful artists have signed on for an upcoming Hurricane Katrina Benefit at New York’s Central Park SummerStage on September 28 . Produced by Jammys Executive Producer Peter Shapiro, Soul to Soul: A Central Park SummerStage Benefit for Hurricane Katrina will feature Cassandra Wilson, Allen Toussaint, Ivan Neville, Dr. John, Angelique Kidjo, Corey Glover, Hubert Sumlin, DJ Logic, Dar Williams, Drive By Truckers, J Mascis and Bette Lavette, among other guests. Soulive will serve as the evening’s house band. While the show is free, Central Park SummerStage suggests a donation of $25.00. All net proceeds will be donated to the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic. A New Orleans Cuisine will also be provided by Blue Ribbon and Jacque Imos. Relix Magazine is a media sponsor for the multi-band event which will close out SummerStage’s 20th anniversary season.
