Billed as the New Orleans Funk Jam, Leo Nocentelli performed many of his classic Meters tunes last night at the B.B. King Blues Club. His band included three members of Galactic: Stanton Moore, Robert Mercurio and Ben Ellman. Opening the show was the Yossi Piamenta Band. One of the evenings highlights took place during the Nocentelli set when Piamenta aka The Hassidic Hendrix stepped up for an extended guitar duel in ‘Cissy Strut.’ Nocentelli will perform a late night show this evening with Russell Batiste at the Lions Den while the Piamenta Band will be at Crash Mansion on January 20.
