Last night at New York’s Crash Mansion marked the debut of The Heavenly Jams Band featuring Oteil Burbridge, Yosi Piamenta and Asaf Shor. At the start of the group’s second set Mike Gordon appeared in Oteil’s stead on bass for a version of Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Red House.’ This was an apt selection given Piamenta’s nickname as the ‘Hasidic Hendrix.’
