The Apollo Theater at 253 West 125th Street will house a truly historic evening of music to benefit the hundreds of performances and educational programs produced by Jazz at Lincoln Center, the not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to enriching the artistic substance and perpetuating the democratic spirit of America’s music.
The evening will begin with a concert featuring an unusual but undeniably impressive crew of musical luminaries. Bob Dylan, Marsalis Brothers Wynton (with his Septet) and Branford, Al Jarreau and Jewel will perform with comedy giant Cedric The Entertainer hosting the proceedings. Earlier today, James Taylor was added to this breathtaking bill. The ticket price ($1000 and up) will also cover a post-concert festive gala dinner. Report by Rob Turner
