Robert Randolph, who continues his European tour with Eric Clapton at the Royal Albert Hall, may be out of the country but his presence is tangible back home. Randolph and The Family Band are one of the contributors to the new Jimi Hendrix tribute album Power of Soul. In addition to the Family Band’s take on ‘Purple Haze,’ Clapton performs ‘Burning Of The Midnight Lamp,’ Santana contributes ‘Spanish Castle Magic,’ Prince Offers ‘Purple House’ and ‘Power Of Soul’ is interpreted by Bootsy Collins with George Clinton & The P-Funk All-Stars. Meanwhile, the pedal steel player also appears on the latest disc from Fountains of Wayne, adding his signature licks to ‘Hung Up On You.’
