On Friday night at The Tap Bar a number of performers showed up to sit in with Topaz’s Soul Temple. In addition to Topaz, on this evening the Soul Temple roster included ulu founders Luca Benedetti and Justin Wallace, along with James Hurt (Project Logic) and Genji Siraisi (Groove Collective). The music began about around 1AM and about an hour and a half into the night, Marco Benevento hopped on stage, followed soon by Cochemea ‘Cheme’ Gastelum. Closer to 4AM, Benevento’s and Gastelum’s bandmates, Joe Russo (Benevento Russo Duo) and Robert Walter (20th Congress) entered the fray as well.
On Tuesday Topaz, Hurt and Wallace will reconvene as The Texas Po Boys, a project assembled for a 4:20 Party at The Tap Bar with Melvin Sparks and Eric Bolivar completing the roster.
