The Benevento Russo Duo will expand this coming Saturday night at New York’s Tribeca through the addition of Charlie Hunter. The 8-string guitar player is no stranger to duos as he just wrapped up his four night Knitting Factory run with Bobby Previte. Still, Hunter clearly enjoys his trios as well, and in fact in addition to the Tribeca gig, he is slated to perform with his own three-piece band earlier that same evening at Tonic. As for the Duo, the group’s January and February residencies (which included such guests as Wayne Krantz, Warren Haynes, Mike Gordon, Andrew Barr, Sam Kininger and Skerik) are now available for purchase at aliveaudio.net.
