Last night at Nashville’s Exit/In Aubrey Ghent guested with the Derek Trucks Band. Ghent, the Florida lap steel guitarist who first garnered renown outside of the church with his appearance on the Sacred Steel Guitar release, appeared for the close of the first set for a few songs including ‘Feels So Bad,’ ‘Goin’ Down Slow’ and ‘Volunteer Slavery.’ Ghent, who has performed with the DTB on a few instances, has an intimate connection with Trucks as he officiated at the guitarist’s wedding to Susan Tedeschi.
