Galactic is currently recording in its new studio in New Orleans. The group is working with San Francisco producer/DJ Dan the Automator Nakamura (Kool Keith, Prince Paul, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion) on a full-length album due this fall. Dan is the perfect producer for us right now, says bassist Robert Mercurio. We were already headed in this direction, and its great to have a producer who can run with that. The album will be the band’s first studio release since 2000’s Late for the Future.
Galactic will play four shows in New Orleans during Jazz Fest, beginning this Thursday at Tipitinas. For details, visit the groups official website.
