Soulive keyboardist Neal Evans will appear on Me’Shell Ndegello’s forthcoming album. Evans joined her in the studio earlier this week. Aside from some inspired playing, the collaboration brings together a Jammy winner with a Wammie winner. Soulive won a Jammy in 2000 for Future Jam and Ndegello picked up a Wammie [Washington D.C. area music award] in 2002 for Urban Contemporary Vocalist. She was also nominated for a Grammy this year in the category of Best Contemporary R&B album for Cookie. A release date has not yet been announced for the new disc.
Soulive plays Saturday in Columbia, SC and will head to Japan at the end of the month. For details, visit www.soulive.com.
