Melvin Sparks’ Mt. Vernon, NY home was robbed this past weekend. The items stolen include his Gibson L-5 guitar. Sparks, hailed as one of the progenitors of acid jazz, continues to record and perform. His latest disc is What You Hear Is What You Get and he joined Rusted Root for ‘Women Got My Money’ at the 2002 Jammys.
