Soulive welcomed more special guests to the stage last night at the Mercury Lounge in New York City during the third week of its Stretch residency. Saxophonist Joshua Redman sat in for Cannonball and Kenny Garrett added sax to Stevie Wonders Jesus Children of America. Saxophonist Jay Rodriguez and vibraphonist Stephon Harris also jammed with the trio for a portion of the set. Next Wednesday, the NYC residency concludes with two shows: an early gig at Joes Pub and a late night throw-down at Tribeca Rock Club with a very special surprise guest.
