Members of Jiggle and Max Creek will play every other Wednesday at the Met Cafn Providence, RI, beginning this week. The outfit, dubbed Depth Quartet, features drummer Greg Vasso (Jiggle), guitarist Scott Murawski (Max Creek), keyboardist Mark Mercier (Max Creek) and bassist Justin Kolack (Vykki Vox Band, Boogieman).
‘Depth Quartet arose out of an impromptu gig we did this past December, says Vasso. We had such a great time that we came up with the idea of having a ‘Get Your Yah-Yah’s Out’ project; i.e. play all the stuff you don’t normally in your other projects. I’m sure we’ll hone things down and discover our sound more down the road, but right now it’s delightfully innocent. We’ve also been looking at truly ‘exploring the jam’ in terms of fully letting all ‘form’ go and letting the music go where it wants. So all the above being said, you might call us…uhh…what is it again?…uhh…a jamband.
In addition to the regular gig at the Met, the group will also perform at Sullys Pub in Hartford, CT on March 15.
