Bassist Mike Gordon (Phish), mandolin player Jamie Masefield (Jazz Mandolin Project) and guitarist Doug Perkins (Smokin’ Grass) performed together Saturday at the Starksboro Village Meeting House in Starksboro, VT. The show was a benefit for the Meeting House, which was built in the 1840s. The concert consisted of two sets of mostly jazz and bluegrass including Working on a Building, A OK, Sea of Regret, Devils Dream, Doin My Time and an alternate arrangement of Mark Knopflers Six Blade Knife.
The same trio appeared at the Meeting House on January 14, 2000, although only one song was repeated from that show. (The 2002 gig also holds the distinction of having working heat in the building, a plus this time of year in Vermont.)
