Several musicians collaborated last night at Geoff Scotts weekly gig at Matt Murphys in Brookline, MA. The principle line-up featured guitarist Scott (Miracle Orchestra), bassist Mike Rivard (Club dElf), Andrew Barr (The Slip), Brahim Fribgane (Club dElf) and DJ Mister Rourke. Special guests included alto saxophonists Sam Kininger (Soulive, Lettuce), James Merenda and Matt Steckler (Dead Cat Bounce). The night consisted of Scotts original instrumental material, some of which is represented on his solo album, Table 8. The Tuesday night residency features Scott along with a rotating cast of musicians each week. This is a weekly celebration for the casual and exploratory mind, says Geoff.
Next Tuesdays show will feature Scott, Fribgane, bassist Timo Shanko (Fully Celebrated Orchestra), guitarist Brad Barr (The Slip) and drummer Andrew Barr (The Slip). Other special guests are expected.
In addition, this line-up will perform earlier in the day on radio program Jazz Oasis on 88.9 FM WERS at noon.
