Mike Clark and the Roots All*Stars have confirmed a second date on November 22 at the House of Blues in Cambridge, MA. The band features drummer Clark (Headhunters), trombonist Fred Wesley (James Brown, Parliament Funkadelic), guitarist Fuzz (Deep Banana Blackout) and saxophonist John Ellis (Charlie Hunter Quartet). We’re going to be playing an interesting mix of stuff: some of Mike’s latest tunes, Headhunters music, some of Fred Wesley’s stuff and some blues tunes, says Fuzz. What’s also cool about it is that Mike is familiar with some of the players, but some of us are new to him so that should bring out some interesting facets and elements in the music.’
The group will also perform tomorrow at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City. For details, visit www.bbkingblues.com.
