Sound Tribe Sector Nine has announced its fall itinerary. The tour kicks off September 5 at the Music Farm in Charleston, SC and includes a two-night stand at the Georgia Theatre in Athens on September 6 and 7, a two-night run at The Fillmore in San Francisco on October 18 and 19, two nights at the House of Blues in Chicago on October 25 and 26, a Halloween run at The Roxy in Atlanta on October 31 and November 1, and a 3-night run at the Fox Theater in Boulder, CO on November 6, 7 and 8. The schedule also includes dates in Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin and North Carolina.
Sector Nine also plans to release a new studio album in the fall of 2003. ‘We want to release a few tracks that we’ve recorded over the past couple of years and continue to work on the next studio album that we hope to release next year,’ says guitarist Hunter Brown. ‘But we’re in no hurry. We are trying to make an album that balances what we do live with what we create at home and in the studio. We have acquired new acoustic and electronic instruments that we’re excited to incorporate into the STS9 sound.’
The group plays next weekend at the Berkshire Mountain Music Festival in Great Barrington, MA. The full itinerary is available at the band’s official website.
