The new Govt Mule documentary, Rising Low (originally titled On the Banks), will make its world premiere on Sunday, March 10 at Alamo Draft House in Austin, TX as part of South by Southwest. The film was directed by Mike Gordon (Phish) and documents the making of Govt Mules two albums, _The Deep End Vol. I _and II. The movie features behind the scenes footage and interviews with more than twenty five bass players, including Phil Lesh, Bootsy Collins, Les Claypool, Flea and John Entwistle to name a few. Musicians that influenced the late Gov’t Mule bassist Allen Woody were asked to take part in the project as a way to honor him. The film will also be shown March 14 and 15 at the Austin Convention Center Theater.
