California-based sextet, New Monsoon, will celebrate its debut recording with a CD-release party on Friday. The disc is entitled Hydrophonic, and includes eleven original tracks by the group which blends Afro-Cuban and Indian percussion, as well as acoustic and electric guitar into its sound. The show will take place at San Francisco’s 7th Note Showclub & Cellar, with King Harvest opening.
