Editor’s Note – Lee Abraham is on the road, once again navigating the rock and roll highway in search of melody in its purest form… here’s one of the traveling scribe’s past efforts to maintain the journalistic momentum of his ongoing quest:
Asphalt Haze
the road is inspirations stage
and a dangerous gig for the fool
seductive
mysterious
the road is a beautiful woman
each curve an opportunity
every line a challenge
on the road
another sunrise shines new light
for the oldest journey
yet the road is a reluctant muse
tantalizing with destinations allure
to overshadow the path itself
the road laughs at deadlines
twisting
turning
rolling endlessly
in an asphalt haze
a homeless place
beyond time
the road is not bound by agenda
save its own
the road is a foolish lover
letting all go too far
too fast
or worse
too slow
adventures on the road always end
regardless how pure the travelers heart
or joyous the view
