September 15, 2023 at 6:36 pm[…] Current Issue DetailsPublished: 2023/09/12 by Alex H. Krinsky Photos by Keith Griner and Chris Gordon The second annual ALL IN Music & Arts Festival in Indianapolis wrapped up this weekend with resounding success, doubling its attendance compared to its inaugural event in 2022. Over two jam-packed days, festivalgoers enjoyed a collection of incredible experiences, performances and collaborations. This year’s installment featured an impressive lineup of artists, including Trey Anastasio & Classic Tab, Tenacious D, Umphrey’s McGee + Led Zeppelin Dreamset featuring Jason Bonham, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Greensky Bluegrass, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Cory Wong, Karina Rykman and The Beatles Dreamset, among others. The festival’s memorable moments began early on Saturday and continued to build throughout Sunday.Thrilling musical collaborations included Cory Wong and Trombone Shorty exchanging performances, The Beatles Dreamset (an homage to the full setlist from The Beatles’ performance at the Indiana State Fairgrounds in 1964) saw jamming between Indiana hometown legends, and Quinn Sullivan surprised the audience by joining The Main Squeeze. Additionally, Umphrey’s McGee brought Jason Bonham and Greensky Bluegrass on stage for a Led Zeppelin Dreamset, which served as the grand finale of this year’s event. This year’s edition of ALL IN was unique and boutique, with a limited capacity of 7,200. All headline performances were held inside the air-conditioned Indiana Farmers Coliseum. The outdoor Main Street Stage featured bleacher seating and standing room. The combination allowed festivalgoers to experience both an arena rock atmosphere inside the coliseum and an outdoor setting. Rykman took to Instagram to express her joy about her first arena experience. In addition to its musical offerings, ALL IN celebrated Hoosier culture and reflected Indiana’s hospitality and diversity with premium local food and beverages, a sprawling beer garden featuring local craft breweries, cocktail bars, and more. With a record-breaking year behind them, organizers are swiftly starting plans for the 2024 edition of the ALL IN Music & Arts Festival.
