Next weekend, founder of Red Light Management Coran Capshaw will be honored with City of Hope’s Spirit of Life Award at a gala in Los Angeles, which will feature music from some of Capshaw’s Red Light clients, Trey Anastasio, Dave Matthews, Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Joseph.
Capshaw founded Red Light Management in 1991 and has been working as Dave Matthews Band’s manager ever since. The Charlottesville, VA-based company also counts Phish, Pres Hall and Joseph among their over 250-artists roster. Red Light is also affiliated with concert and festival promotion company Starr Hill Presents, and Capshaw himself owns Charlottesville’s Sprint Pavilion venue and is a partner, with Live Nation, in Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheatre.
The Music Hope & Feeling Spirit of Life Gala, set for November 2 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA, will see Anastasio and Matthews share the stage for the first time since 2007. The two have collaborated at various points since 1993, including at Dave Matthews & Friends performances in 2003 and 2004.
